Hotel amenities checklist

Use this checklist when you plan guestroom amenities for a hotel, homestay or hostel.

1. Essentials every room needs

• Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap)
• Toothbrush and toothpaste
• Tea and coffee sachets with a kettle
• Clean towels and bedding
• Waste bin and tissue

2. Comfort items

• Extra pillows and blankets
• Slippers and shower caps
• Shaving kit and sewing kit
• Hangers and a laundry bag

3. Brand and budget

Decide whether amenities are branded or unbranded. Unbranded items cost less and are easier to restock. Branded items support your image but need longer lead times.

4. Stock levels

Set a par level for each item (the amount kept in each room) and a reorder point. Check it monthly.

5. Packaging
