How to choose hotel bedsheets
A practical guide to choosing hotel bedsheets: laundry cycle, fabric, weave, sizing, colour and bulk ordering.
Hotel bedsheets are used every day, so the choice affects guest comfort and your laundry cost.
1. Know your laundry cycle
Sheets that are washed daily need a fabric that holds up to frequent hot washes. Ask your supplier for the wash test rating or the recommended wash temperature.
2. Look at fabric and weave
- Cotton percentage: higher cotton feels softer, but blends can be more durable for commercial use.
- Weave: check whether it is plain, sateen or percale. Each feels different and wears differently.
- Weight: heavier fabric is usually more durable.
3. Check sizes against your beds
Measure the mattress depth, not only width and length. Deep mattresses need deeper fitted sheets.
4. Plan for colour and fading
White sheets show stains quickly. Coloured sheets can fade faster in a commercial laundry. Pick a colour that suits your brand and washing routine.
5. Buy in bulk with spares
Order a full set for each bed plus spares, so one set is always in the wash.
6. Ask for a sample
Test a sample in your own laundry before ordering a large quantity.
